Travelon’s new bags are super anti-theft even against virtual thieves!

So Denise has been bugging me to take a look at these new bags from Travelon and I must say, they’re totally geek-worthy. If you’re paranoid with losing your gear (bag getting slashed, pocket getting picked, or SERIOUSLY — data stolen through near field communication devices) these bags are for you! Really, look no further.

Here’s an example: look at these nondescript bags and cases:

From the outside, they’re pretty straightforward. But it gets really interesting when you break the bag down:

If someone tries to slash the bag for its contents, the blade will be greeted with protective chain link panels that runs through the entire bag all the way to the bag straps. The bag zippers are also securely locked.

But the biggest spectacle inside this bag is that it comes with a special chip that blocks RFID devices from detecting your credit card or even your smartphone. Although it isn’t widespread yet, near field communications and RFID cards are slowly making its way in the Philippine scene. So far, Jollibee is rather heavy into it with their happyplus cards. So imagine, someone with a sisnster “RFID stealing device” can come near you and “steal” your virtual Jollibee money. And that would suck. Again this is in the near future folks, so it’s cool that Travelon can equip these bags with these physical as well as virtual anti-theft countermeasures.

Travelon is available in selected The Travel Club Stores nationwide. The Primer Group of Companies, Asia’s next retail giant, is the exclusive distributor of Travelon in the Philippines.

Hi Matt. Travelon is a direct competitor of Pacsafe. They both have anti-theft products although Travelon has other travel accessories as well. They have a line called Travel Comfort where you can find your self inflating pillow, gel seat cushion, anti-microbial blankets, etc. You can visit Travelon PH’s facebook site at http://facebook.com/Travelonaccessories and follow Travelon PH on twitter at http://www.twitter.com/travelonph for updates on their new products.
