price tag practice

One of my eccentricites has to do with buying books. Unless it is a gift, I never remove the price tag on any of the books that I buy. This is to serve as a reminder that books are to be taken care of.

It’s usually something that people take for granted – removing the price, that is.

funny, i do almost the same thing with brand new books. i move the price tags [if i can] to the inside cover.

I often do that myself. Especially when I decided to raid Australian bookshops like Dymocks and Angus & Robertson. Then there’s that quaint bookshop in Singapore’s Changi Airport.

The tag not just documents the price but the place and time, which reminds me of memories that come with the book. :)

I, on the other hand, remove the price tag as soon as I get my hands on the book… doing so will “remind” me that the book I bought is meant to be read, not placed in a display case never to be touched again.

    Am I a minority here???
