At Computex in Taiwan you could not even get this close to Samson Hu, Co-CEO of ASUS because his path was always cordoned off while he toured Jensen Huang around the ROG and ASUS booths.

But here he is, in the flesh in Manila, announcing a significant investment into the Philippine market with the ExpertBook Ultra line. I told him that the first ASUS product I reviewed was the eee PC from 2007. His eyes lit up and said that he was handling that product since he also has an engineering background. I asked him what his best ASUS engineering achievement was and he said he had two – the eee PC (that ushered in the netbook category) and the ASUS Transformer tablet which was the first tablet to have a detachable keyboard (I got to see this at Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona). The Transformer was the early prototype that gave birth to modern products like the ROG Flow.
Iba talaga pag ang CEO ay engineer din!
Before we parted ways he asked me how old I was. I told him I was in my mid 40’s. He said I look younger for my age daw! You know what I said?
AySUS!
A pleasure to have a long and fruitful conversation with you sir Samson!
