Andrian Lee’s “No Scratch” Gadget Solution

Met up with a few of the SEMCON speakers last week for a brief photo session. It was there that I got to see Andrian Lee (he’s going to talk about the Ultimate Checkout Solution on Oct 10) and his uncanny gear protection solution.

Over a pitcher of probably the best beer in Makati (Grappa’s Greenbelt 3), Andrian narrated his philosophy of keeping his devices immaculate of scratches without having to cover them up with some form of casing. A case destroys the overall aesthetic appeal of your hardware. So this is what he came up with:

The 3M Bumpon is most useful for stopping cabinet doors and drawers, holding the bottom of appliances and protecting stacked glass. Apparently it can also be used to protect your gadgets from scratches as well as acts like a set of feet to protect your gear from wet surfaces and involuntary rubbing against evil surfaces. A set contains 14 Bumpons and retails for P80.00 in any hardware store. The Bumpons stick easily and requires some effort to remove. The remnants are easy to wipe off.

Thank you Andrian for an out of the box idea!
