Nokia finally has a tablet. With the not-so-epic netbook product from way back then, the marriage of Nokia and Microsoft has a child – the phone manufacturer’s first Windows RT tablet.

Specs include:

10.1 inch HD display
4G LTE and WiFi
6.7MP camera
Windows 8.1 RT

Just like Microsoft’s Surface tablet, the ‘Lumiabook’ will have the keyboard case option that will sell for USD $149.00. The Lumia 2520 on the other hand will sell for USD $499.00.

So is it worth buying? Pegged at roughly the same price as the Samsung Note 10.1, the main advantage of a Windows tablet powered by Nokia hardware is essentially Office 365 / Office 2013 which has been hailed as the definitive power product of Microsoft in this day and age. I kid you not. Check out my review of Office 365 when it was launched in the Philippines.

Consider a Lumia tablet if you’re after excellent hardware from Nokia (there’s no doubt I always wanted an Android powered Nokia device, but a Windows 8 powered tablet with Nokia hardware is quite competitive) and the solid enterprise + cloud solutions of Windows 8.1 and Office 365.

Apart from their flagship tablet, Nokia also unveiled the Nokia Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1320 smartphones as well as the Nokia Asha 500, Asha 502 and Asha 503. Details of these products can be found in the press release below.
