End of the World: Movie Skeds Gone Wrong!!!

So has anyone been experiencing anomalies with ClickTheCity’s movie schedules? Twice already I missed out a movie at the Alabang Town Center because the online database was not in sync with the actual movie schedule. And not only was the time messed up, the actual movie list in one particular cinema was different too.

Now this could be an isolated case as it could only be affecting the Alabang Town Center, but as I’ve always relied on ClickTheCity for the daily movie schedules, it can be really … surprising to be toting a huge bag of popcorn and an extra large drink only to find that the movie isn’t on till the next hour — not that it’s CTC’s fault for this. The source of the problem could have come from Ayala’s side also. I hope they get it fixed soon, as a discombobulating movie schedule can really mess up one’s schedule and definitely ruin a date.

hi jayvee, which day was that so we can investigate what happened.

we call all the cinemas (including the provincials) on a daily to to keep our movie sched database as current as possible. but there are times the cinemas would decide to change their sched after we have called them (but this is not often). it is also possible for the discrepancy to be caused on our part due to human error, but we try to minimize it by having another person validate the scheds being entered.

thank you for using clickthecity.com.

thanks jayvee 🙂

hi jayvee, although the movie schedules for Alabang Town Center changed from Wed (July 8) to Thur (July 9), the schedule in our database was updated and reflected this change.

anyway, we added the following text on our Movie Schedule as people might mistake the schedule they see today valid for tomorrow:

“This schedule is for today: Friday, August 10, 2007)”

thanks,

Jayvee, Now that is funny 🙂 Well, you know its one way of eliminating the stress:) Never been a problem for me because I usually go after office so I have an idea what time the screening is. The soda and popcorn counter is before the ticket booth?

I always check CTC when looking for movie scheds, either through the web site, WAP site, or by SMS (2333). So far CTC has never failed me so I find your post a bit disturbing. Of course CTC can’t guarantee their schedules, but I’ve come to rely on it extensively.

it happened to me always, when the movie that i want to watch is not listed in CTC.
but if that happens, i call on the cinema customer service of the mall and inquire about the movie. and they says it still showing.

i already emailed CTC informing or asking them for an update, but i havent received any replies from them.

i know its a computer glitch, so the best way is to use CTC and get the phone number of the movie theater and inquire about the latest showing :_

Hi Azrael, i searched your email and emailed to you personally.

I’ll post part of it here as i think your concern is similar to mindanao bob, ie: somtimes you see the theater, sometimes you dont.

The reason for this is: as i mentioned we call the cinemas daily to get the sched for tomorrow. There are times that we cant get in touch with them (especially for provincial cinemas). Either the line is busy or there is no answer. In cases such as this, we dont publish their sched for the day we were able to contact them. We feel that it is better *not* to publish their sched (even if there is a chance that they will carry over their sched the following day), than to publish a sched we are not sure about.

Thanks for using ClickTheCity.com
