Caylabne Bay Resort Shoot this Friday

There will be a shoot this Friday at the Caylabne Bay Resort. The subjects will include “surfing and bikini clad bodies” and the shots will be used for a press release. The invite goes out to bloggers who are photo enthusiasts and who want to hone their craft and gain exposure. If your shots are used for the press release, you will gain full credit to your site.

I actually do not know how many additional photographers they will need as they left the numbers open. Compared to the last shoot we did in Intramuros, this one will be a bit tight as it will be on an early morning Friday. There will be transportation for this event. The meeting time and place will be at 6:00AM at the Shell McKinley EDSA. The shoot will last till 12 noon. That’s enough time to file for a half day leave 😉

You can send me an email with your name mobile number so we can get in touch with you. 🙂

Updates for Cosplay Shoot on Sunday

We’re set for Sunday!

I’d just like to remind everyone of the details on where to meet up and how to get there. Markku and I are meeting around 11:30 AM. If you feel like joining us earlier, do contact me or Markku. I have the full details of the meet on this post.

Jerry will be modeling for us and she is planning on bringing some of her cosplay friends. Frankly I’m a little nervous about the ratio of photographers and potential models since I really don’t know how many will turn up. But nonetheless, everyone is excited to meet up and that is what counts!

From last count, we have two or three lomo wielders and about two dSLR users coming along.

After the shoot, we can all hang out and talk about the ruminations and ramifications of life. 🙂

An Invitation to Shoot, Learn, and Have Fun!

779px-harajuku_bridge_02.jpg

What: Cosplay Photo Shoot with Jerry Polence with guest photographer Markku Seguerra
When: May 20 2007 2-6 PM
Where: Club Intramuros Golf Course (how to get there)

I’ve helped put together a mini event thanks to Jerry Polence, Mike Abundo and Markku Seguerra on the 20th of May. We’re going to be shooting models in full cosplay attire thanks to the Pinoy Cosplay organization. This invitation to shoot and learn is open to all bloggers who would want to learn to take better photos. It is also an excuse to take time out of your usual routine and join in on something completely different for the lazy weekend.

MANILA, Philippines – Seguerra, one of today’s fast-rising photographers has volunteered his time to do an informal hands-on photo class with help from Jerry Polence and other models from the Pinoy Cosplay organization. Seguerra’s work as a photographer has been acclaimed to highlight the best in outdoor portrait photography capturing. His many works can be viewed on his personal site at RebelPixel.com.

If you own a camera (you don’t need to have a Digital SLR and if you have a lomo, why not?) and want to join in on the fun, please feel free to come. It is another chance to meet a lot of awesome people in the blogosphere, cosplay as well as hobbyist photographers. I really hope to see you there. Markku and I will be in Intramuros by around lunch time on the 20th to survey the area.

If there are other hobbyist photographers who would like to share their own tips, please, the floor is yours to share too! 🙂

Bloggers aren’t journalists – they’re bloggers!

Many months ago I entered the new media industry with a lot of assumptions about blogging and journalism. Having been in both sides of the fence, the blogging industry and the media are two sides of the same coin, yet have really not been tossed into the fire — this was back in 2007. One year does a lot to people.

Now that I run a blog advertising network I can lay several assumptions to rest as I’m learning so much about the blogging industry. We’re learning so much because we’re actually making things happen with the BlogBank. I’ll probably post a few of these learnings soon. They are, actually, very surprising.
