makes sense with AdSense

There’s an interesting topic over at Darren’s Problogger site – it’s a poll:

how much $$$ did your blog make from Google AdSense last month?.

I checked the payload for C9 and revenues are at $3 dollars and 6 cents. Woot!

I can’t believe the survey shows that 9/393 people actually made $10,000.00 from this. That means you can blog abot crap and people still click on your ads. I don’t know how this feat can be accomplished because you’re basically earning income passively. It’s true that blogging content does have weight in traffic, but what makes people click on your ad and not theirs when its all the same?

Registering with AdSense is easy as pie. Earnings however, isn’t that easy. Imagine AdSense as a small classifieds listing posted in every nook and cranny of the blogosphere.

Some people I know who use AdSense:

I just heard Dickoy made 36 cents so far in his blog. I think pasting the code on your blog is much easier if you have a Blogspot account.

Pam has made around 10 cents in revenue. Woot! UPDATE: She’s now made more that $1.00!

Gary has made over $100.00 in total AdSense revenue. But it took him over a year to reach.

Now, I recently applied for an AdSense account for this personal blog but I’m stuck in the page that tells me to choose how the ads will be laid out – just like the classifieds. Decisions, decisions! For what it’s worth, AdSense can give you coffee money when you’re just starting out. But I think payment only occurs after your first $100.00 in earnings. Hehe what a long shot that will be!

If you wanna find out more, there’s a blog that talks about everything AdSense (done by the Google peeps) located here.

Flickr plugins

I started using the Flickr plugin for iPhoto recently. It makes exporting photos to Flickr a breeze.

You can check out my Flickr photo gallery here.

I just added a “My Photos” section to my links. I use Flickr for my select photos.

I use Shutterbook for my stock photos since I have so much storage space availabe since participating in the beta. The great thing about this app is that you can literally just drag and drop an unlimited number of photos to be uploaded. Very convenient for stock.

Aaand I think that’s all I have to say for today.

2BU Soup Kitchen

Pam Pastor from 2BU is asking for help in a soup kitchen project for the kids of Payatas on the 16th of December.

I really don’t need to elaborate how we should keep the less fortunate brothers and sisters in mind this Christmas, or reiterate how lucky we are compared to these people in spite of all our problems.

What I want to stress is that when we give, we give because we are sincere, not because everyone else is hopping on the bandwagon as if it is some fad to be involved with charitable acts.

My objective was to post this before payday because I know a lot of you are short on cash now since its the final stretch of the pay week. The Christmas shopping doesn’t help too. Here’s to brightening the Christmas of several kids!

Anyway, here’s an excerpt from Pam’s email:

Here are the NGO’s bank account details, just in case you want to make your deposits directly:

For peso donations:

Prudential Bank

Donations in kind are welcome as well. Rice, mongo, seasonings, vegetables – I will be collecting them until Thursday so we can have enough time to prepare them before we go to the soup kitchens on Friday.

If you wish to go with us, please e-mail me at pajammy at gmail dot com or ppastor at inquirer dot com dot ph.

Her original message can be located here.

I’m trying to organize something now with the HIP staff. Though I believe in more sustainable efforts to help communities, these soup kitchens are a good way to open people’s eyes to the reality that 90% of the country’s population is below the hamburger index.

dinosaur comics

I found these comic strips I made for Qwantz several months ago. I think I posted about it in my old blog but for the sake of starting anew, I decided to upload them on the new server.

These comics were inspired by my 95-100% grades in high school Metaphysics. We had a geriatrically-affirmed teacher named Mr. Sese so we’d comically refer to his class as “the Esse of Sese.” He always told us how he would love to die in the middle of class to show that he was “fulfilling his manner of being as a teacher.”

N.B. The comics are in chronological order, done in the all-famous Dinosaur Comics style!

You can view the first comic here.

You can view the second comic here.

I always thought that subject mastery meant that you could make fun of it. So … Enjoy!
