I’m totally immersed in Bioware’s latest storytelling masterpiece, Dragon Age: Origins. Here are breathtaking screenshots taken at highest settings from the Sony VAIO CW’s video card at 8x anti-aliasing. The game still runs smoothly.

If you have 500 hours to burn, get this now. It’s cheaper if you buy the box from Datablitz, at only P1,300.00. It’s more expensive on Steam.

Sims 3 Retails in Datablitz Today!

screenshot_original

This is me reading, wearing my signature pink shirt, shorts and Sanuks.

Overall a good break from pwnage in Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress 2. The original version of Sims 3 was released today and Datablitz had them on stock.

Although I haven’t started it yet, every account comes linked to a personal social networking page on the Sims 3 site, allowing you to showcase your screenshots and videos. You can find my social page thus far empty as, alas, there just had to be a blogging component in it and I sure would want to stay away from blogging in everything that I do!

My initial impression of the gameplay doesn’t stray from the experience of playing the first two Sims titles. This version improves on the former by bringing the whole neighborhood together (you can invite the paperboy in to chit chat for instance). Sims also have stronger bladder control and don’t find the need to go to the bathroom every 5 minutes. A welcome change!

Sims 3 is not without flaws – my initial registration that supposedly garnered USD $10.00 worth of credits to buy stuff got lost in cyberspace. I think my connection timed out when I was in the process of reclaiming my lost simolean currency so I sent a support ticket and well, let’s see what happens.

If you by chance do decide to pick this title up … well, it’s a good replacement to Restaurant City, MyBrute and Pet Society all together. The deluxe edition retails at P1350.00 in Datablitz while the limited edition goes for above P2,000.00. The box set gives you a 2GB USB drive shaped like the green diamond icon and a bunch of freebies for in-game play.

Fallout 3 for the PC bootleg copies make it first before Datablitz

Oh my. I still haven’t had my fill of the zombie apocalypse and I’m knee deep into another one. Fallout 3 is the third installation to the Fallout series, the spiritual successor to 1988’s Wasteland. It’s been roughly eleven years since I’ve worn the pipboy.

There were two role-playing titles in the series (Fallout and Fallout 2), one tactical role-playing game spinoff (Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel) and one action dungeon-crawler for PlayStation 2 and Xbox (Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel). A sequel, Fallout 3, was recently released by Bethesda Softworks. Bethesda now owns the rights to make all Fallout games,[1][2] and has conditionally licensed the rights to make a massively multiplayer online role-playing game version of Fallout to Interplay. In 2001, PC Gamer named Fallout and Fallout 2 as the fourth best computer game of all time. [Fallout 3 series]

Torrents and pirated copies are everywhere – the original discs are only out for the XBOX 360 and Playstation 3. Datablitz still doesn’t carry the PC version.

The Fallout series is best known for its tongue in cheek humor towards post nuclear America.

Unboxing Warhammer Online Collector’s Edition

A bit late, but here are some photos of the Warhammer Collector’s Edition box set. If you’re a fan of the Warhammer lore, the graphic novel (blue) Prelude to War will not disappoint as it tackles the back story of Grumlok and Gazbag as pawns of the Dark Elves and the rallying of the Dwarven engineers. Alongside this, The Art of Warhammer Online (red) is fabulously done, bringing a fantasy themed coffee table book to round out the other magazines you have on display.

More photos after the break…
