Sari.PH is changing lives by bringing the sari-sari store online

SARI SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS

First off, I love their logo. There’s nothing more epic than nanay doing a power uppercut with her Sari-enabled smartphone. In the digital industry, it is rare to find individuals who can look beyond merely building campaigns for brands. I’ve always championed the fact that (almost) anything you do in the digital landscape should not be campaign-focused but rather platform-focused. Analogy: Would you rather be the guy who puts money into Facebook to launch your time-bound campaign or the guy who actually runs Facebook, where all of the conversation and conversion happens?

A review of the BlackBerry Z10

philippines blackberry z10 review

Before we talk about the BlackBerry I’d like to momentarily digress you, the reader, to a time back in the year 2000 when a company known as 3COM unveiled their new trade name under Palm Inc. It was, henceforth the company that brought memorable palm pilot devices such as the m515, the Zire, Tungsten, Lifedrive and of course, the Treo series which arguably became the basis of the modern day smartphone. Five years later, the company renamed itself into palmOne, and then after a number of months reverted back to the original name, Palm. In 2009, we all said goodbye to the iconic ecosystem, which was in turn replaced by webOS (which was then bought and then sold once more by HP).

Bogart the Explorer Harlem Shake vid shot in our office

Bogart the Explorer and his team came by the office yesterday and shot their version of Harlem Shake. It’s actually one of the better iterations. The ID8 game room has table tennis, a XBOX + Kinect system and a foosball / mini billiards setup.

Manila by night from the International Space Station

manila international space station

Earlier this morning, Commander Chris Hadfield of the International Space Station put this out on Google+ and Twitter. Looks like rush hour down there.

Tonight’s Finale: At long last – Manila, capital of the Philippines, delicately shining in the night.

This photo gives me that warm, fuzzy feeling especially when you see the G+ conversation thread.

‘Sede vacante’: Papal Seat is empty and so is the Twitter account

the papal seat is empty

The traditions of the papacy is engulfed in rich history. From the breaking of the papal seal to hitting the head of a deceased pope with a hammer, a new Church tradition has begun in the digital age. The sede vacante (from Latin sedes, -is; chair; third declension) which is the term given to the time period between popes seems to also appy in the digital age. With over 1.6M followers on Twitter, @Pontifex has deleted all its previous tweets to symbolize that the papacy is in transition. The screen name of Pope Benedict VI has also been removed to honor the sede vacante.
