Thinking of a site redesign

I’ve been long thinking of a blog overhaul. The main purpose would be to better position my site against the stuff I do for a living. A Bugged Life started as an experiment but as all experiments eventually turn into patents and then products, I’ve been considering targeting my blog’s niche into more specific items.

I’d appreciate some feedback from readers about the following:

1. What do you think my niche is upon reading my blog?
2. Does it effectively give a good overview of the things I do? What could be improved? What things are being done well?
3. Do you enjoy my one panel comics? (hehe)
4. Do you think I read a lot of books?
5. If you were to categorize the stuff I write about into three general topics, what would they be?

Feedback would help.

Anne Curtis up front and center

I write for a magazine called Mobile Philippines, formerly known as m|PH. I’ve been doing so for the past three years. On the cover of our nth issue (I’ve actually lost count) is Anne Curtis, who is in my humble opinion the most gorgeous cover girl we’ve had so far.

For posterity’s sake:

What’s gorgeous for me? Well, its the type of beauty that’s stunning and at the same time the type that you can take home to your mom.

Expect the issue to be out next week. Ever since Steve Jobs announced products six months early, it has now officially been deemed cool to pre-announce stuff.

Web 2.0: Beta is the new retail

src=”http://msig.info/web2v2/(reflect)abuggedlife.comBETA.png” alt=”Generated Image” />

Haven’t you noticed how the word “beta” has become more appealing to Web 2.0? It just looks and sounds cooler.

In context, there is no such thing as retail anymore. At least, over the Internet. Don’t you agree?

Killer name for that killer blog event

A few months back, a few Filipino bloggers wanted to organize a “bloggers for bloggers” event similar to Gnomedex. Of course, Gnomedex was sponsored by Lockergnome which meant they had the resources to pull this off. At that time, we were looking for a sponsor for this type of event which would be geared more towards serious bloggers, which basically allude to adjectives like: prolific, stat-crazy, and “pro-.”

So here we are, and guess what? We may finally have a sponsor for this event to be held in a few weeks. The first item on the agenda is to think of a KILLER NAME for this event. Any suggestions?

Band of Bloggers is out. Some other suggestions include:

1. Blogcon
2. Philblog
3. Philippine Blog Summit
4. Father Abe-raham and the Pinoy Top Bloggers

Note that this is a bit different from the iBlog Summit that is held once a year. This event will be a bit more targeted towards specific problogging and blog optimization topics.

Leave a comment for suggestions. 🙂

The Blog and the Beautiful

If you check PTB everyday, you’d be entertained to find ot how often Eros and Rickey try to snag the number one place. As you would know Basang Panaginip made it to number one for about a month due to a high traffic hit because of his post on the world’s most realistic vector art.

As of today, BP has gone down to rank number 4 and once more, superstar Bryanboy has retained his position at number two.

Has Rickey’s plea for help (see comment underneath his blog) been answered? Find out next month in Pinoy Top Blogs. Oh the drama!
