Crumpler Cobram Outpost: Efficient compact camera storage for underwater photograhy

A good camera bag is like the best pair of jeans you can own: comfy, rustic and beat up. You know you’re in love with photography when your camera bag has absorbed the dust and flavors of the sojourn, much like how a cast-iron skillet cooks with the spices of the last hundred meals.

That being said, the Cobram Outpost is part of my lifestyle regimen to make the logistics of underwater photography more bearable. This 2014, I’ve been shooting exclusively with Sony’s RX-100 Mk II and I still can’t stop hankering as to how I’m enjoying myself a lot more with the upgrade in technology and the downgrade in size. Lugging around more than 5 lbs of equipment that was not SCUBA gear can be a huge impediment so the move to a compact camera was a welcome one.

It’s been almost a week since Crumpler Philippines announced the local chapter of Beer for Bags. Let’s check out some of the photos of beer stacked outside the Cumpler store.

Wow, that’s a loadful of Cheetos! Sadly for those who still are planning on exchanging their beer for bags, most of the stock is gone. I wanted the Maurice messenger bag for my 13 inch MacBook — but that’s gone too.

Unboxing Crumpler Loo Roll with Road Test: Two thumbs up!

As a niche leader in comfortable bags, Crumpler also produces some of the most bizzare schwag. Thanks to the generosity of Charlie Paw at last night’s PhilMUG party we have the chance to do an official unboxing and and first impression run of the Loo Roll, Crumpler’s tissue roll that doubles as a paint by number coloring pad.

Crumpler Industry Disgrace Camera Strap, Finally!

It’s almost like an obsession as I hauled myself at every chance I land on Bonifacio High Street as I’ve been pre-listed for an Industry Disgrace for several weeks now. Yup, the Industry Disgrace is Crumpler’s new line of camera neck straps. I had a feeling they would be here in Singapore and my guesses were right. I was able to get two 🙂

In SG these things cost betwen P660.00 to P950.00 depending on what “edition” you got. The camouflaged design you see here is the limited edition while the brown and black (I didn’t get the black) were more affordable.

The Crumpler Store Opens in the Philippines

It’s official. The Philippines is now an eccentric geek hangout based on the standards of the owners of Crumpler. These guys are the makers of the bags that changed the geek world to what it is today – fashionable, quirky and still geeky! No other bag has created such a cult following in the world as the name Crumpler is backed by a few years of quirky personas and drunken copywriting skills for their product catalogue.
