I’ve known Erick Garayblas since my “way back” days in the old MaPalad.org and Pinoy Windows Mobile forum groups. Back then, he was already rocking the mobile gaming scene with hits like Traffic Jam and the highly addicting Tower Mogul that ran on both the Palm OS and Windows Mobile, the top two “advanced” mobile platforms at that time.
Just yesterday, Erick released another home-grown game for iOS under his new development house, Kuyi Mobile. Streetfood Tycoon is a strangely addicting “Jolly Jeep” simulator where you have to fulfill orders from walk-in customers by combining ingredients in the right order. Other than the time limit given to complete each order, you have to deal with restocking your ingredients, upgrading your facilities and buying better ingredients.
Dissecting Streetfood Tycoon into its parts, the game is essentially a test of abstract reasoning to combine ingredients in the proper order to match the picture of the finished product. The time limit and chains of orders add to the excitement and pressure to fulfill orders. Getting perfect orders give you in-game money which you can use to upgrade your items. As you create dishes, you will also need to deal with cleaning your stall. Dirty stalls are not attractive to walk-ins.
So do I like it? Totally!! If I’m up for a 5-minute break, Streetfood Tycoon can be the most involving bite-sized moment of my life, as you will really need to zone in and concentrate on every customer’s continuous orders, balancing that with cleaning your stall and restocking supplies.

I played this game and I think I found a bug where in i forgot to pay the rent and bought something and now I can’t start a new day because I have no money for the rent. help…
