When Nokia removed BlackBerry support to the E-series line, they had this up their sleeves. Nokia Messaging is available with SMART Telecommunications by adding PHP 299.00 above your monthly plan. This allows you to access up to two of your email accounts (GMail, Yahoo!, Windows Live, MSN, etc) for an unlimited time throughout the month. Unlike BlackBerry’s push email, Nokia Messaging checks for new mail based on how often you set the timer — 5 minutes, 30 minutes, or several hour intervals. I appreciate how SMART was able to offer this service on most Nokia business phones such as the E71, E75, E63 and E72 but I do have a qualm regarding the total number of mail accounts. Nokia Messaging supports up to 10 email accounts while SMART only supports two. What gives? They should reconsider this. Sure — two email accounts — one for business and one for personal mail (like me), but I do feel hampered knowing that Nokia itself offers up to 10.
Signing up for a Nokia Messaging account with SMART is simple. All you need to do is apply via a SMART Wireless Center, or better yet, send a DM to @SMARTCares and they will get it all set up. I applied via the former as I also had to pick up my phone. I signed a contract and after confirming with @SMARTCares that my Nokia Messaging service was ready, I began to add my two email addresses. I suggest signing up via the web service at http://email.nokia.com and then adding your two mail accounts via the phone. Don’t worry — the settings are synced between the phone and the web application.
If for some reason your mailbox does not sync, you will eventually get an email sent to your account telling you why this happened. The likelihood is that you may have changed settings (i.e. password) on your mail account and it didn’t reflect on your phone, which is why I suggest adding and configuring a fresh set of accounts via the phone application, not via the web (although you have to sign up via the web).

[New Post] How to set up Nokia Messaging on the E72 with SMART – via @twitoaster https://www.abuggedlife.com/2010/01/02/settin…
am unhappy with my e72 T_T. but Smart’s nokia messaging service is ok.
Nice post! Thanks, its a big help. I also think it’s really bad of Smart to cutting down to 2 email accounts as well, but I think it has to do with the network capacity of their 3G/HSDPA network, too many email accounts leads to being accessed all the time by users will probably need to network congestion…thus the limitation. The money factor will always play a part in these scenarios…
@ Winston, bro can I ask why your unhappy with the e72? I was seriously thinking of getting it once I got over the iPhone faze…is it not as it was hyped up to be?
Say what you will, Nokia are still top of their game. I’d prefer a Nokia to an Iphone anyday 🙂
