As a Note 3 owner, I’m extremely pumped for the Note 10.1. Imagine having both devices and the versatility of Air Command but on a much bigger screen. Essentially, that’s what the Note 10.1 has to offer.
During the media briefing I learned that Samsung is pushing for Android to be considered by the enterprise market. In the past, Android (and yes probably iOS) were shunned for security reasons, which is why BlackBerry and Microsoft Exchange, although legacy solutions, were still the preferred choice in the enterprise market because of their stress on security. More about that later.
In the Philippines, Samsung will only be carrying the WiFi version at PHP 26,990 which is a pretty good price.

Introducing Knox. Named I guess after Fort Knox, this is the enterprise software that we’ve all been waiting to come on board the Android platform. Essentially, just like individual profiles that you can create in Windows, Knox allows you to create user-specific profiles that are password secured. In other words, you can now share your tablet with other people without worrying about your Calendar, Contacts, Email, Photos, etc getting exposed.
Knox is an additional security layer above the Samsung-skinned Android platform so by default, you will have to launch the app from the menu and this will take you to a new customized layer identified by a lock beside the regular icons. There’s absolutely no way you can view encrypted files, and no you can’t just launch Astro File Manager and view the contents in a folder. Photos you take in your individual profile stay there. And it’s the same with installing apps from the Samsung Store and modifying other entries.
Knox is available with the high end Android devices of Samsung, starting with the Note 3. It is also on the Note 10.1.
