So small. So good.
From afar the Boya mini mic dock looks like a typical pair of wireless earbuds. It’s only upon further inspection that you’ll realize they’re mics. That’s because both lavaliers come with puffy windscreens that also look like in-ears. I was lucky to have bagged these as an evaluation unit from JG Superstore, one of my favorite gadget shops in Manila.
The Boya mini comes with a USB C charging cable, a carrying pouch, mic charging dock that fits two lavalier mics and one receiver. Note that the complete package includes two receivers — one USB-C and another lightning port for iOS devices. In my box, the USB C receiver was packaged separately as only one can fit inside the charging dock as seen in the photo below.
Just so you can see how small these things are, I placed them side by side my small Hollyland Lark M2 lavaliers and you can clearly see that the Boya mini has a smaller footprint. It doesn’t come with any alternatives to clip on (like the Lark’s lanyard or magnet) apart from .. a clip-on.
Pairing the mics are not automatic as the two lavaliers need to be synced with the receiver by pushing both buttons on the devices. A flashing blue light indicates that the mic now works.
We still don’t have a price for the Boya mini in the Philippines but we’re quite sure these will sell like hotcakes as they’re available in both white and black.
