How to fix the Uploader Java Applet for Facebook on Firefox for Mac

On Firefox for Macintosh, and maybe even on PC’s, Facebook photo uploading can be a small discomfort when you try to select photos for uploading. The screen shot above shows you why: for some weird reason the Java uploader gets screwed up, loading only 90% of the uploader applet. Thus, you can barely make out the “Upload” button which goes right beside the select all and deselect all button. You can’t click on it. To remedy this, all you need to do is click on the “select all” (or “deselect all”) button and press Tab. Your cursor will automatically move to the Upload button and press the spacebar (not enter!) to accept changes.

Or, just download Opera or use Safari. 🙂

How to determine if your Nokia battery should be replaced

Here are a few illustrations to help you determine if your Nokia battery is part of the defective stock that was brought in:

Nokia has announced an exchange program for a limited number of Nokia-branded chargers manufactured by a third party supplier. We have determined that the plastic covers of the affected chargers could come loose and separate, exposing the charger’s internal components and potentially posing an electric shock hazard if certain internal components are touched while the charger is plugged into a live socket.

While we are not aware of any incidents or injuries related to the affected chargers, as a precautionary measure, we will exchange affected charger models free-of-charge.

The affected chargers are those manufactured by BYD between June 15, 2009 and August 9, 2009 and with the following model types:

AC-3U
AC-3E

and those manufactured by BYD between April 13, 2009 and October 25, 2009 and with the following model type
AC-4U

After determining if your charger is affected, you can submit the serial number to avail of the exchange.

Bring on the cheese, dear friends. Week 7 (timely too as this is the week of the Windows 7 launch!) of the Nokia DiscOVIries contest is upon us and the theme from now till 11:59 PM of Sunday is all about CHEESE! This is not to be confused with Lori’s previous theme. This time we’re looking at cheesy or romantic SMS messages that you’ve saved on your phone. If you don’t have the message, write it down somewhere and take a photo for uploading or type it in your text editor and paste the screen shot.

I will be bringing in a special judge(s) for this contest so please, bring in the raclette and fondue and let’s make some cheese! Remember, the cheesier, the better! You can enter as many entries as you want but make sure each entry has your OVI email address and a short description of your entry.

First Impressions with the SONY VAIO CW, a Quasi-Gaming Notebook!

Pricing Update: The VAIO I’m currently using, the VPCCW16FG goes for PHP 72,999, while the entry level VPCCW13EG goes for 52,999. The difference is that the latter comes with a GT210 card with only 256MB of VRAM, and 2GB of RAM.

After hearing about it over the Internet, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Sony’s latest gaming + fashion notebook, the 14 inch VAIO CW. I called up their publicist and asked for a unit to wear and tear and here I am jotting down my first impressions.
