Updates for Cosplay Shoot on Sunday

We’re set for Sunday!

I’d just like to remind everyone of the details on where to meet up and how to get there. Markku and I are meeting around 11:30 AM. If you feel like joining us earlier, do contact me or Markku. I have the full details of the meet on this post.

Jerry will be modeling for us and she is planning on bringing some of her cosplay friends. Frankly I’m a little nervous about the ratio of photographers and potential models since I really don’t know how many will turn up. But nonetheless, everyone is excited to meet up and that is what counts!

From last count, we have two or three lomo wielders and about two dSLR users coming along.

After the shoot, we can all hang out and talk about the ruminations and ramifications of life. 🙂

b5media now hiring for music channel

We have a new channel editor up for a new line of products. Here I go helping spread the call for emo bloggers who know their music.

b5media is really excited to be launching a new music channel, which will cover a wide range of genres, geographic locations, bands and interests. We’re looking for writers who have a keen interest and engaging knowledge of specific topics and aspects within the music industry.

We will be looking to cover various genres and categories such as: acoustic rock, British invasion and influence, classic albums, hip hop, rap, indie rock, music industry news, online music services, the indie experience (from a band’s perspective), pop, Top-40 and the world of guitar playing. We will also be looking to cover specific bands who are newsworthy and blogworthy such as U2, the Beatles and Justin Timberlake.

You can view the call for applications here.

BuggedCast Episode 5 – “Blogger, Behold Thy Podcaster”

podcasting-booth.jpg

This was the first time I set foot into a mobile podcasting studio, though thinking about it I never really knew that you could port a recording studio by just adding water. Worth P200,000, it is supposed to be your friendly portable podcasting box for recording anywhere, anytime.

I have several guests for this podcast, and we all fit inside the 4 x 4 box. One of my guests was Pocholo Gonzales of Creativoices and we talked about the voice acting industry, dubbing TV shows, the life of a voice actor and of course, podcasting.

The show is done mostly in my local language of Filipino.

Third Gen MacBooks: Buy now if you’re waiting

So the rumors were indeed true. Apple has upgraded their MacBook line for the third time, giving better “bang for your buck” ratio with the increased HD space and built in 802.11n wireless card.

macbook-third-gen.jpg

If you bought a new MacBook last week, then I feel for you man. But if you’ve been waiting to get one, the third generation MacBooks give you Core 2 Duo stability from the second version and a 200GB maxed out HD with a slower spin speed at 4200 rpm. Of course, you can always opt for the smaller HDs. It’s really up to you. I’d be sad if the new MacBooks came with an upgraded Intel GMA graphics chip, but its still pretty much the same thing fro the previous version.

On soft launches and something I’ve been working on

magnet-serendra-2.jpg

Yesterday I had come from the soft opening of mag:net Cafe at the Bonifacio High Street. I’ve been giddy as a geek about this as I’ve always enjoyed the mag:net crowd in Katipunan as its been the hangout of the most friendly and non-pretentious crowd in the city, who are, to my glee also some of the most talented in the realm of art, music and geekdom. The night was opened by Gabe Mercado and the rest of SPIT Improv Theatre and was capped with Indio I playing a few songs.

Speaking of soft openings, I’d like to direct you to something I’ve been working on for a while. I’ve gone into a hiatus mode to think about my personal advocacies and thus I’m (soft) launching The Blog and Soul Movement. Thanks to the help of several mavens in PR, events, generous bloggers and organizations in new media this would not have been possible.

The launch is so soft, I don’t have a logo yet.
