I used to submit poems to Poetry.com several years ago. Since then, the site has sort of redesigned itself into something more Web 2.0-ish but retained its slow loading speeds and hard to use navibar. They even used to invite me to buy a “Best of Poetry.com” book with my poems included inside, and then I realized that it was really just a marketing strategy to sell these things. All of my friends from the PH who ever contributed got that letter too. Fishy. Crafty. Potent!
Writing poetry was a hobby back in college for the sole reason that it was easier than writing a play. I guess it took me just a few minutes to write one work as compared to over 14 days to write a 30 minute play with 4 roles. From my knowledge, one page of script took up about 1 1/2 minutes of acting time.
In any case, I hope you enjoy my work. I usually don’t put titles to my poems. This would mean that the title is the first line.
3:23 – now showing terran and protoss fight – marines and zealots clashing on the ground – mothership and battle crusers in the air – framerate seems relatively stable as more units stream in – hard to tell – about 100 units on screen right now – a few of the new protoss units just came in – nuclear launch detected warning – every unit on screen destroyed – three nukes were launched at once – then zergs rush in and spell “GG” while turning into suicidal bombs. This has been the longest time since Blizzard released a follow up for a title. Starcraft 2 looks very much like the first one with several elements taken from Command and Conquer: Generals as well as the Warhammer 40k series. This isn’t a gaming blog and I’m not a game freak, but whenever Blizzard announces a new game, I always end up playing it, form the days of Diablo I and Warcraft I. The Starcraft line prides itself to being one of the tipping points in real time strategy gaming, as it’s been around since the late 90’s and people are STILL playing it, mostly from Korea.
I wonder how Blizzard will play their cards with this one. I’d think that their main problem would have to do more with eating up their own product (eek what do I play now? World of Warcraft of Starcraft 2??) but this question was easily put to rest with the way Blizzard has dealt with making the game look so much like the first one, that it would be very easy to gain empathy for the controls and the game environment. This game is definitely targeted for the more hard core RTS fans like .. well, the Koreans.
If you’ve played the first Starcraft, you will immediately recognize Terran, Zerg and Protoss structures as well as the new units and upgraded abilities such as the Zerglings’ ability to explode and the Zealot and abilities for close combat strikes.
