Rumor: Microsoft is building XBOX Surface, a 7″ gaming tablet

Apart from the manufacturing details of the latest XBOX 720 which is touted to become Microsoft’s next-gen console, the Redmond company is also rumored to be building a brand new gaming experience called the XBOX Surface. This is, in essence a stripped down Windows 8 tablet sized into a 7-inch housing for touch enabled gaming. This move makes a lot of sense and seems more to be the real deal rather than vaporware. Windows 8 already supports XBOX heavily as music, video and Gamertags are already synced up with the tablets.

I believe Microsoft is building an even more portable and dedicated gaming experience as they currently do not have a formidable portable gaming ecosystem that ties to their console hardware unlike their competitor Sony that has the PS Vita and PS3 cross-compatibility.

Our Bacolod Wedding

Bacolod Suppliers:
Flowers and Table Arrangements: Beng Picart Villanueva
Catering: Tizon’s (buffet) Calea (wedding cakes) Aida’s (chicken inasal) The Lacson Mansion (brick oven pizza) Virgie’s (Giveaways)
Coordinator: Cat Regalado

3.3.12. Our wedding day.

Due to requests from friends and relatives wanting photos of our wedding details, I decided to put them up here. Our wedding ceremony was held at Sta. Clara Church with the reception following at the Lacson Mansion, which is the ancestral house of the family (from my father’s side). We turned the Mansion into a garden of treats where our guests could experience “a day in Bacolod” in one venue. We didn’t have a wedding cake — we had 13 cakes from Calea. 🙂

XPLAY’s Official Statement regarding the raiding of Datablitz Stores for NBA2k13

EDIT: Datablitz has also issued a statement

You might have heard that Datablitz was raided today. Ironic right, as they have in my eyes been the bastion for what is good in the computer gaming industry. The media got it wrong and I am not surprised. According to statements, Datablitz had pirated copies of NBA2K13 which was of course, false. Datablitz does not keep pirated copies of games. Rather, these were copies that were not under the right distributorship.

We finally have an official statement from XPLAY.

I am still trying to absorb the contents of this press release as we speak. So, what do you think?

Budget ASUS VivoBook runs Windows 8 at PHP 20,995

Perhaps the most affordable Windows 8 Pro-ready laptop in the market, the ASUS VivoBook will definitely sell because it makes touch affordable for everyone. In terms of specs, other than the touch screen, the budget version of the VivoBook comes with an older Celeron processor and 2GB of DDR3 RAM.

As you can see from the specs below, this computer is meant to act as your entry level laptop for Windows 8 that takes advantage of the touch screen features that Microsoft’s new OS touts. And as you may already know, Windows 8 doesn’t make sense without the touch screen.

SPECS:

Intel® ULV Celeron® 847
Chipset
Mobile Intel® HM76 Express Chipsets (i3-3217U),
Mobile Intel® HM70 Express Chipsets (Pentium 987/Celeron 847)
MemoryDDR3 1333 MHz, 2G/4G (on board)
320GB / 500GB (5400rpm)
11.6″ 16:9 HD (1366×768) LED Backlight
Integrated Intel HD Graphics
PRICE: PHP 20,995

After fiddling with the demo unit at the recent Microsoft launch, I was pleased to note that the legacy Celeron processor didn’t hinder the UI response time (I wasn’t able to fiddle with the apps though). If you’re looking for Windows 8 on a budget while still being able to enjoy the new touch-enabled features, the ASUS VivoBook is something you may want to consider.
