In May of 2007, the LAGALAG moleskine notebooks looked like this:
14 months later, the notebook is FAT with stories to share from 20 Filipinos around the world.
14 months later, it landed on my doorstep via express mail and duty bound, I had to fill up two spreads. So here they are:
A tattoed military man in Japan rescues a dying man inside a car.
A writer in Cambodia loses himself in a foreign land through a painful ritual.
A former recording artist discovers new wells of creativity in Canada.
A man in the gaming industry prowls the streets of Manila in search of lost messages.
They have never met each other but they are bound to share one amazing journey around the world. They are just four of the twenty Filipinos in Lagalag, sharing one thing in common – they all take pictures.
Twenty different ways on how Filiipinos see the world.
Twenty photos. Twenty stories.
One destination. Your doorstep.

I interviewed Wil about Project LAGALAG back in May of 2007. This was as memories served me right, the first podcast interview I’ve ever recorded.
After finishing my two spreads I had wanted to deliver the moleskine personally to the next guy as he was based in Makati. I held back.
The novelty - the mystery of reading about the personal accounts of many other Filipinos I’ve never met seemed to be even more charming than reading it from a blog - which practically is the same thing. There really is some charm to it. The personality of the author’s penmanship, the awkward strokes on the edges of the paper, the glue and felt marker stains …

Alfred: Sir … give me your hand.
Batman: I … I can’t.
One of the best scenes I’ve ever seen from any Batman flick. This was taken from Working Through Pain, an episode from the 2008 DVD set, Gotham Knight starring Kevin Conroy as Batman / Bruce Wayne.
Batman: Gotham Knight will be available on both single and two-disc DVD editions, as well as a Blu-Ray version on July 8th, 2008.
The special features on the single-disc edition will contain an audio commentary of the film by Gregory Noveck, Dennis O’Neil and Kevin Conroy, as well as a sneak peek at the next movie of the DC Universe Original Animated Movies line: Wonder Woman.
The two-disc and Blu-Ray editions of the film will contain the above mentioned special features as well as a documentary titled Batman and Me: The Bob Kane Story, a featurette exploring Batman and the Gotham villains he faces titled A Mirror for the Bat and four episodes of Batman:The Animated Series , presented by Bruce Timm.[wiki]

It’s been a while since my last video tutorial — this next one I promise will not fail to isolate. In fact, this may probably have the biggest impact to your career especially if you are in the IT, new media, or communications sector. Very multi-sectoral and so useful!

This definitely proves my point. Apple watchers have been keen on a rumor of upgraded MacBooks coming soon. The current design is being phased out in favor for lighter and more earth-friendly materials because of the ongoing green campaign in the USA.

After a failed delivery attempt last January, my shipment of Threadless tees arrived with take two. Threadless was introduced to me by SPIT Founder and ‘ol friend Gabe Mercado after he showed me a shirt he was wearing at our usual hang out at mag:net BHS. The shirt was titled Marshmallow Factory and showed a unicorn in the clouds crapping marshmallows to the happy beings below as they screamed “Marshmallows!!!” The five works below are designs I got with respective titles and links.

Bored as I was three years ago, I had been a contributor to Dinosaur Comics, an excellent web comic with a huge twist. Unlike other comics, Dinosaur Comics uses a static series of panel art throughout its three and so years of existence. I remember how one person compared DC to the formula behind poetry where given a set of rules (i.e. iambic pentameter) is used as a premise to create wonderful literature and it is by trying to push those rules to the limit where one becomes master.
The two comics above are the ones I submitted to his site. You can view bigger versions of the first and second one. It is my short lesson on Metaphysics and the Types of Being.

So Rockeoke and Popeoke Nights featured a live band. With Broadway-oke, there will be a live pianist on stage! Gabe says the pianist can sight read so you can even bring your own sound of sheet music.

How small the world is. Mia, one of my friends from college sent me a link to MicroMinds by Jaycie and Honey. If you’re at a loss for a gift to give your geeky friend, then look no more.
These miniatures merge the very best between geekiness and fashion accessories. The necklaces are around P550.00 each (1 inch) and the keepsakes are about P1,200.00 each (1.5 to 2 inches in size) with an acrylic case. It would be best to PM them for updated pricing because they can customize orders for you.

In this I assume that you dear reader are in like with a food blogger. More likely to be female than male, food bloggers are one of the more passionate niche writers whose taste for words are just as delicious as their taste for food.
Dating a food blogger can be a rewarding experience, not just because she can open up an appetizing palette of degustations to your oh so fast food world, but you will be blessed with some of the best conversations ever about life and living it. Some of the most engaging conversations I’ve had were with food bloggers - food is the doorway to all things enjoyable, but only bordering on sinful.

There is a preconceived notion that food bloggers, like beauty or fashion bloggers are a bit on the smug side. This is not true. There is also a preconceived notion that food bloggers will only hazard to the most expensive restaurants in the Metro and away. Also not true. Food bloggers appreciate the best as well as the simplest meals. The common denominator is that they are more sensitive to tastes in context and can compare the best of fast foods to the worsts of fine dining.

Philippine Art Awards eBook Supplement
Philip Morris bagged a ton of awards during the Anvils. One of the more unique Merit awards they received was for a supplement interactive eBook to their Philip Morris Philippine Art Award (PAA). It is a nicely packaged CD ROM that contains the electronic version of the Coffee Table Book which is given to patrons on a limited “print” run.
There are art competitions and art competitions. Then there’s the Philip Morris Art Competition, officially known as Philip Morris Philippine Art Awards (PAA). Within a span of a decade, the PAA has established itself as the most prestigious and most-awaited art event and competition in the country. What puts PAA above the rest of the art competitions that even established artists have accepted the challenge to compete in this art arena? What so uplifts the status of the PAA that those previously unheard of, upon winning, turn into artistic luminaries overnight?
Electronic magazine design has been prolific for quite some time now. These designs are usually applied to web samplers of magazines such as Electronic Gaming Monthly. You can use your mouse pointer to flip virtual pages onto a flash application. That’s what this entry is. You can scroll through a virtual book with the visuals of the entries and credits.
Just one thing though. Although the eBook is a supplement that definitely goes in the right direction, the CD ROM didn’t contain high resolution versions of the entries. Well, this could have been for copyright reasons but it’s hard to appreciate a painting that’s reduced to 400 x 300.
