Schmidt’s x Llucia: Serious Hotdogs and Churros

Address:
2nd Floor Robinson’s Madison Mall
Don Jesus Blvd (Alabang Hills)

Madison is a new community mall that popped up right across the new Hillsborough Church after the Alabang Hills exit. It’s a boon for people from Alabang Hills, Hillsborough and BF Homes who want to experience new places to eat without having to cross Alabang-Zapote to get to Alabang Town Center. Strategically, Madison’s line of restaurant offerings are fresh — the Japanese restaurant ABURI is a must-try, and I heard that Relish will be opening soon as well.

SCHMIDTS LLUCIA

Right across the Korean Bingsu place at the second floor is Scmidt’s x Llucia. With an ambiance lined with low wooden counters and rather limited seating, the restaurant prides itself in craft hotdog sandwiches and churros. At this time of writing, many of their offerings were still unavailable because of their soft opening, but we were able to try their soft served churros — which was epic (SEE PHOTO BELOW!). I’d give it a 4/5 and will definitely come back for more. Why 4/5 and not 5/5? I’d say it’s because they should have put more than two small rolls of churros inside the soft serve. Mejo bitin. But other than that, the soft serve really went well with the cruncy popcorn and churros.

Madison is shaping up to become a go-to community mall for families who live around the Alabang and BF Homes area. If you don’t have an Alabang Hills or BF Homes sticker, the only way to get there would be to take the service road from Sucat. The mall is definitely a breath of fresh air in terms of being a convenient location (for more food!) plus it isn’t a boxed-in air conditioned building. Madison is open-air. Who knows, maybe next time Madison can be a location to find interesting bingo games?
