So
It’s a misnomer that geeks seems to always want gadgets, peripherals for their computers. If someone asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I’d make it convenient for him or her to choose from the following gift ideas. Note that I have attached a PayPal button below in case you feel generous π

Read on for some great gift ideas for your geeky friends and maybe even for me π
Item Number 1: An AUDIBLE.com Audiobook
Argh! I’m addicted to Audible. This is the easiest way for me to finish reading books as I’ve no more time to sit around a coffee shop and open a book coupled with a latte. There’s a gold membership promo going on now that allows you to buy one book a month only USD $7.00 for the first three months.
On my current wish list are To The Stars: The Autobiography of Star Trek’s Mr. Sulu (because it is read by George Takei himself), Shadow Divers (as it seems to be recommended by a lot of people), and Confessions of an Economic Hitman (although it is available in Fully Booked for a much cheaper price).
If you want to send me Audible credits, you can just click on this fantastic link π
Item Number 2: THREADLESS Tees
When Gabe Mercado walked into mag:net one night, I couldn’t help but notice his Threadless t-shirt. This is geek fashion at its best! Check out the photo catalogue and see what I mean. With the dollar down, one shirt can go for less than P500.00.
Check out the Cow Puzzle tee for instance.
Item Number 3: A portrait done by Nitrozac
I’ve always wanted my face turned into a Nitrozac portrait. It’s a little expensive starting at USD $95.00 but what a novelty!
Illustration taken from TWiT.TV
You can have the portraits customized by Nitrozac as avatar emoticons as well.
Item Number 4: Joy of Tech Tees
Well, need I say more? You can customize the front and back of the tees as well as the color of the shirt. A good number of the shirts are Mac fanboy related though. Not complaining π This is the link to the Joy of Tech Spreadshirt store.
Item Number 5: A Flickr PRO Account
Well, this needs no re-introduction. It’s the reality that we all have to renew our Flickr PRO’s every year. Why not make this a gift for your special someone?
Item Number 6: Stuff from the VALVE STORE
The Valve Store is also a pretty great place to buy gifts for your gamer friends. The card on top of this post will strike a yuletide candle onto anybody who’s played Portal. That’s the Weighted Companion Cube wishing you a merry one!

I checked out threadless.com, I instantly loved the shirts, so I immediately placed an order for six tees, only to find out that they cannot process my order because my shipping address is here in the philippines, while my cc billing address is on my cc in dubai.
too bad :(, isn’t there any local retailers here in the philippines?
aldwin, sadly i think ive only seen these shirts online, and not in any retail π
^^ I kinda solved my little problem back there. what i did was use my credit card to purchase a gift certificate, then i used the gift certificate to purchase the shirts.
thanks jayvee, this is gonna be a great xmas gift. π
aldwin, how much did a shirt cost with the dollar low? π
which design did you get?
I actually took advantage of their ongoing $10 a shirt sale. I bought a $50 GC, the I used that to get 3 shirts (peace&war, zoo alphabet, & smack) all for $30 but i payed a hefty $18 for the express shipping.
I was just testing this out, and if i like the quality of the shirts, i will order more shirts and maybe choose the non-express delivery to save on shipping.
I love all the stuff except the Valve Store hat.
How about gifts for photographers?
uy jayvee, i saw a cute tee in threadless too. i like! π
i think i’d do what aldwin did! whoopee!
Hi Jayvee! Does Paypal already fully support Philippine-based users? How are you able to accept donations from PayPal? π
aaaawwww.. I should also do my Christmas shopping soon… I’m also thinking of items to put on my wishlist for our exchange gifts…
