LG Releases Cheapest “3G for All” Mobile Handset

lgku250.jpg

The LG KU250 was released by the LG Mobile group. I was able to attend a small luncheon courtesy of Globe Telecommunications to celebrate the launch of the handset that costs P6,250.00 till June 30 2007. This is a move to bring down 3G to the masses since Globe’s video calls AND voice calls are charged the same rate.

I believe SMART is also offering the same handset with their own pricing scheme.

SM Hypermart: 100 Bloggers Eating Simultaneously!!!

I’ve been asked to act as one of the food marshals for a big blogger event in July. Here are the details:

WHO: Bloggers of all ages and sizes
WHAT: SM Hypermarket Invites Bloggers to get a “Taste of Asia”
WHEN: July 3 2007 7:00PM
WHERE: Taste Asia, SM Mall of Asia

To join just leave a comment on this blog or over here and we will gladly accommodate you.

To view the updated list of registrants, please visit this page.

As an aside, the event marshals were classified by blog niche. I really found it shocking revealing how our Google country representative classified my blog as a “lifestyle blog” (as opposed to tech) based on the contextual advertising that was being generated on my sidebar. A Bugged Life is a lifestyle blog. I have a life after all. 🙂

TGIF with PhilMUG on a Monday and the Day the Comics Started

img_7871.jpg

As mag:net was undergoing renovations, PhilMUG moved its meet up to Friday’s, which just opened at the Bonifacio High Street, near Serendra. Manila is such a small place. And yet we have an abundance of Macintosh user groups (aside from PhilMUG, there’s also PinoyMAC and Alamug) as well as other geek niche clubs for other operating systems, software developers, and photography. Not to mention the bloggers.

I love the Philippine “geek community.” Not only do most of them know each other, but the community has always been supportive of members in their crazy antics. That’s partly the reason why I’m crazy. They’re crazy-er.

The Mac community in particular became a good “testing ground” for my one panel comics which I post every so often in this blog. Here is the thread that started it all. The date of the first post was back in July 2005. These comics were produced using Comic Life. As you can see from my avatar, I was still young-ish looking. Heh.

“Ultra Cultured Night” — Blogger Wine and Cheese Night

After enjoying a stimulating retreat over at Juned’s place a few nights ago, fellow bloggers Markku and Joey, Gail and Marc have been wondering what the deal was with wine and cheese. In this light, I am organizing a blogger wine and cheese meet up tentatively on the evening of June 29 2007 or sometime in July. I guess this is also a call for help from Christine, Lori, Noemi and I guess the fab women from the Pinoy Moms Network (you know, the guys should start a Pinoy Dads Network… but I digress).
