Digital Lomography at Puerto Galera

puerto-galera-picture.jpg

I’ve been coerced by friends at Lomomanila to get my own toy camera. As much as I really want to set aside time to getting my own holga or woca, I have been pushed to the dark side of lomography – which is to make use of creative filters to come up with lomo-like effects. I don’t use Photoshop. In truth I suck at it. So most of these pictures were taken using creative filters (basically a filter slide with several gel colors which you can insert in between the holder) to achieve these cute effects.

Here are some shots I took in Puerto Galera over the weekend with blogger idol Abe Olandres , BBN co-founder Rico Mossesgeld and SEO guru Marc Macalua. And yes, there were girls.

Shooting in the water can be rather hazardous for your digital camera so before doing this, it would be nice to say a little prayer and fasten your camera securely — or just go buy a long lens. The filters I used here were a sepia and red creative filter (first pic of landscape) as well as a pastel filter (second beach photo shoot shot) and the center spot filter (for the picture with Sharms and mais con yelo )

I have the utmost respect for Lomomanila and I’m actually wondering if they would consider “digital lomography” for a subgroup in their forums ๐Ÿ™‚ Pleaaaase? With a woca on top ๐Ÿ™‚
